About the Event
Join us as we discuss the art of architecture of Leon Battista Alberti:
humanist, scholar, author, mathematician, priest, poet, designer, athlete,
cryptographer, mapmaker – in sum, a true Renaissance man. In the fifteenth
century, he elevated the role of the architect from manual craftsman to
intellectual professional, designing classically inspired, well-proportioned
buildings in which he sought to create concinnitas, a sense of harmony that
would act to bring “all that music” together.
